The main aim of the present research was to assess the fertility of the soils in the Santa Cruz do Sul county, RS, Brazil, with reference to the micronutrients zinc, iron, manganese, copper and boron. Based on the soil technical reports carried out by the Soil Laboratory of the University of Santa Cruz do Sul, from 2001 to 2005. In all, 3548 reports were interpreted. The analytical techniques for determining such variables followed the methodology utilized by the Official Chain of Plant Tissue and Soil Analyses Laboratories of the states of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina (ROLAS). The results showed that the assessment of the fertility of the county’s soils presented high concentrations of zinc, iron, manganese and copper, but medium concentration of boron, indicating adequate conditions of fertility for the most important cultures of the region.Downloads
