Abstract

This assignment presents a case study in which a tool Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) was applied in a company on the land/air transportation of passengers and carrier. The objective of this study was to determine, with the tool FMEA, actions that minimize or eliminate potential failure modes in one of the service outcomes attended by the company. The specific point where the tool was applied was the manager of passenger land transportation vehicles, because failures related to this component increase the maintenance expenses of the company and tend to generate client insatisfaction. Also used, incorporated to the FMEA tool, other quality tools like Brainstorming, Ishikawa Diagram and Pareto Graphic. The results of the assignment were reached after determining actions that bring with itself the main objective of this study, this is, the liability and quality increase of the service given. This way, the achievement of the present case study caused a better understanding about the proposed theme, besides showing the importance of quality manager nowadays and facing the rising demands of the clients.
