PRODUCTIVE PARAMETERS OF DIFFERENT CORN HYBRIDS IN THE 2019/2020 CROP
Abstract
The production of quality corn grains to supply the domestic and foreign consumer market is extremely important, and several biotic and abiotic factors can affect quality and productivity, ranging from pre-planting to harvest. In this context, cultivars are launched every year, and in corn cultivation the choice of the hybrid with the greatest productive potential and adaptation according to the edaphoclimatic conditions of the region is essential, due to the great variability that exists in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The objective of this work was to evaluate different corn hybrids from the granary region of Rio Grande do Sul, seeking to identify the most productive and adapted to the region among those used in the study. The sowing and all the management of the culture was carried out according to the use in the region, and as evaluations were carried out throughout the development of the culture, and later the harvest was carried out as evaluation of the ear and productivity parameters. The results indicated that each hybrid has its characteristics and approximately 30% of the materials remained within the mean in all evaluations performed.
