PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN STRUCTURAL LITIGATION: ANALYSIS BASED ON THE JUDGMENT OF ADPF 635 (FAVELAS ADPF) BY THE BRAZILLIAN SUPREME COURT

Abstract

The article aims to analyze how the participation of groups affected by the situation of violence and police lethality in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro was ensured in the (ADPF) 635. Using the deductive approach and the analytical procedure method, initially, it explores the importance of public participation in structural litigation, with the aim of providing more adequate and effective responses to the structural problem being addressed through structural injunctions. Subsequently, it analyzes the judicialized structural litigation from ADPF 635, examining how the affected groups were included in the structural litigation.
