This article aims to analyze the judicial control of public policies in the context of the new coronavirus pandemic in the state of Rio Grande do Norte (RN). The focus goes beyond the study of requests that reach the Judiciary, also analyzing the reach and effect of their decisions in relation to public policies and sociopolitical conflicts evidenced in the context of the pandemic from the processes distributed in the Federal Courts and in the State Court between March 13 and August 31, 2020. For this purpose, the statistical method of research was used as an auxiliary and documentary and bibliographic research as theoretical support. Although based on deferential behavior, the Judiciary presented itself as a decisive actor in the control of public policies in the midst of the health crisis, focused on the realization of fundamental rights and its decisions were central to the harmonization of the conflicts that had erupted.
