Lacanian Discourse Analysis: a Plea for a Proper Name

Discourse analysis is a widely used research tool in Psychology from very different theoretical perspectives. Lacanian discourse analysis starts from the theoretical conceptions of the psychoanalysis of Jacques Lacan, having in Michel Pêcheux one of its first developments. This essay presents a brief history of its evolution and discusses the interest of the contemporary use of the expression "lacanian discourse analysis" proposed by Ian Parker in 2005.Discourse analysis is a widely used research tool in Psychology from very different theoretical perspectives.
