The pandemic of Covid-19 brought unprecedented complications and changes to society and families, requiring a whole new family reorganization. In the present study, a systematic review of empirical research articles was carried out in the "LILACS", "PePSIC", "SciELO", "PsycINFO" and "SCOPUS" databases to verify the impacts caused to families by the Covid-19 pandemic. The keywords used to find the articles were “impacts, consequences, grievances AND problems”, “pandemic, CovidD-19 pandemic AND Covid-19” and “family, family dynamics AND family relationships”. Articles included after selection comprised empirical research; in Portuguese, English or Spanish; between the years 2021 and 2022 and themes linked to the impacts of the pandemic on family dynamics. The review found that the pandemic had a very negative impact on families, especially on parents with overloaded roles and caregiving. The pandemic also served as an aggregator of an already existing suffering within the family, potentiating the problem belonging in the family relationship. In addition, factors such as income, race, and gender lead to a greater probability of negative impacts in families. Such results point to a brief notion of the consequences of the pandemic and isolation and show the existence of psychological and financial impacts. However, more studies are needed, especially in Brazil, to measure other types of impacts.
