OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY AND PEDAGOGY OF PAULO FREIRE: CONFIGURATIONS OF THE MEETING IN NATIONAL SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTION

The Occupational Therapy has as main objective give opportunities for people and groups of developing in desired occupations and/or necessary for health, social inclusion and well-being. It was intended to understand Paulo Freire’s conception in relation to the occupational therapy in Brazilian context. An integrative review of 37 published articles from 2000 to 2016, quoting at least one work of the educator as bibliographical reference. It is observed temporarily a progressive increase on the quotes used, the most frequents are Pedagogy of the oppressed, Pedagogy of the Autonomy and Education as a practice of freedom. These are use as theoretical reference, methodological or both. Highlighting the synthesis of dialogues, problematics, critical reflection and awareness on the Occupational therapy perspective while promotes a liberating educative process. It is concluded a vigorous and increasing approximation of the Occupational Therapy with Paulo Freire’s Pedagogy in the search of more critical perspectives to understand the profession and the relation with individuals and social groups.Downloads
