Abstract

Childhood, as a human possibility, has always been articulated the different conceptions in which it was produced. In the meantime, multiplicities of technical-scientific knowledge construct truths by organizing the modes of understanding of childhood. Considering the actuality of these relationships, we conducted a survey with professionals of public school education in a municipality in the south of Brazil. We investigate the processes of medicalization in the constitution of school subjects. The consolidation of biomedical discourse within schools has been increasingly frequent, and their diffusion and reiteration reinforce biological arguments in situations that are, to a large extent, social and cultural.
