This article seeks to understand how some regulations on diversity in Chile dialogue with pedagogical practices in schools, mainly related to intercultural education, migrant students and sexual diversity. The analysis based on previous research found a discrepancy between the prescriptive and actual school practices regarding diversities. This reality can be explained, in part, by historical and cultural phenomena that strain legal advances, which should consider changes at other levels.
