This article seeks to relate the ideas of Paulo Freire, while humanist thinker, to the issue of cultural diversity. First, we will explore the humanistic character of his thinking, making a link between his proposal and the pedagogical practices that values multiculturalism. In the second part, we will approach Freire's reflections about the culture after the exile, i.e., how he built his political-pedagogical discourse from a reading of its own, in front of other cultures. And finally, we will discuss his contribution to the transculturality of education, based on the relation with five central concepts: Circles of (Inter) Culture, the Dialectical Method, Dialogue, Critical Conscience and Generating Words.Downloads
