Being a teacher is a process that is constituted over a period of time, happening in a permanent way. This essay aims to discuss the meanings and feelings of the formative process of a Basic Education teacher participating in the Institutional Program of Initiation to Teaching. This study sought theoretical support in Vygotsky's Socio-Historical Psychology and in authors such as Nóvoa, Gatti and Garcia. The research, of a qualitative nature, carried out data analysis through the meaning nuclei . The core has revealed important aspects about the formative process of the interviewee, revealing much about today´s teacher, and beyond the individual scope allowed to understand several aspects of the teacher education in Brazil, denouncing weaknesses, limits and allowing a glimpse into the concrete training possibilities that promote the development of teachers in a greater sense.Downloads
