Abstract

This research deals with child labor through paid advertising on the internet as a form of exploitation of child labor. The general objective is to analyze when this practice can be considered a form of exploitation. Specifically, the objective was to present the legal regulations against child labor in Brazil, discuss child labor on social networks, especially in the context of advertising paid by child influencers, and analyze whether hiring children for this purpose can be considered exploitation, in addition to identifying the risks faced by these children and adolescents. The research problem was: Can the work carried out by children on the internet, through paid advertising, be considered a form of exploitation of child labor? Using bibliographical research, using books, articles, dissertations and theses on the subject as sources, we seek to collect data on legal protection against the exploitation of child labor in Brazil. The approach is qualitative with a deductive method and a monographic procedure method with bibliographic and documentary research techniques. It was concluded that there is exploitation of child labor when young digital influencers are hired to carry out paid advertising and as a result, they are subjected to a routine of rehearsals, recordings or content creation that deprives them of carrying out activities typical of their age
