Psychosocial aspects of work and psychological suffering in the family health strategy

Background and objectives: The occupational stress may be related to the emergence of physical and mental illnesses. Objective is to evaluate the association between psychosocial aspects of work, according to the Demand-Control Model, with the occurrence of mental disorders among workers of the Family Health Strategies in Santa Cruz do Sul, RS. Methods: study with epidemiological approach, cross and quantitative court. The study target population consisted of 89 professionals, including doctors, nurses, technicians / nurses (TE) and community health workers, belonging to teams of 11 Health Strategies of the city of Santa Cruz do Sul family. Used A questionnaire containing demographic questions, occupational and other belonging to the Job Stress Scale and the Self Reporting Questionnaire. Results: It was found that 30.1% of professionals had high demand and low job control, resulting in high exposure to the development of occupational stress. The prevalence of common mental disorders in professional subject to high strain jobs was 38%. Conclusions: In view of these worrying results it is necessary to be taken attitudes aimed at preventing or reducing work stress and illness at work.KEYWORDS: Stress, Psychological.
