Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and palliative care (CP) seem coherent in their principles for promoting quality of life despite suffering, focusing on accepting death or diseases that cannot be “cured” and extending for both the clinical and healthy population. Patients, caregivers and health professionals are affected by discomforts from the context of CP. The objective of the present narrative review study of literature was to explore scientific production and understand the state of the art about the use of ACT's interventions model in patients, its informal caregivers and health professionals in the context of CP. The narrative review method and the terms “Palliative Care” and "Psychological Flexibility" or "accepta and commitment therapy were used in Medline, Embase and PsycInfo without time criterion. The survey was done in July 2022 and 35 articles were found. Studies have shown that the process of acceptance and values can benefit patients with diseases that threaten life to live with quality until the moment of death. Dying with quality can impact informal caregivers, who still need to deal with mourning. Connection with values can also help health professionals deal with ethical dilemmas and moral decisions in the context of CP. This review does not aim to exhaust the theme between the application of ACT in the context of CP.
