As a psychology specialty, psychological assessment (PA) is one of the teaching practices of many higher education institutions. However, there is a shortage of publications and regulations regarding supervision in PA, which integrates basic characteristics of supervision in clinical psychology with the teaching of specific content. In addition, in Brazil, few services offer specific internships in PA. The Center for Psychological Assessment (CAP) at UFRGS is a school service that offers professional AP internships for over 20 years. Due to this wide experience, this article aimed to report supervisory practices conducted at CAP through a developmental approach and focusing on the precepts of psychological assessment practice in Brazil based on the experience of three supervisors between the years 2021 and 2023. The observations were discussed, categorized and described based on three themes: (1) specific roles of the supervisor in PA supervision, (2) supervision functioning, and (3) perception of supervisory experiences during the pandemic. Through the discussed points, the importance of training and qualification of the supervisor for the proper conduct of supervision was denoted, in addition to the advantages of adopting an approach focused on the development and skills of the student. Challenges of remote supervision and its effectiveness on the learning process of students were also discussed, with a focus on directions for future applications.
