Cinema exists at school in different ways, but the intersection between cinema and education generates a specific type of approach, based on studies about the presence of the cinema in school crossed by the idea of otherness and cinema as an art form and not as a mere pedagogical support. This work aims to reflect on cinema, education and human rights, taking the perspective of an exploratory research, and formulating the concept of affirmative cinema as a tool for our pedagogical practices with an emphasis on modes of addressing, thinking human rights in education as a way to define otherness and reflect on how cinema should be affected by these concepts.
