Social Education and necessary knowledge: analysis based on institutional care experiences

This text deals with necessary knowledge for the social educator, especially in institutional shelters. The authors' experience with children and adolescents with violated rights is considered and historically argued about the welfare origin concept that permeates the action that should be potentially pedagogical in these spaces. The idea of higher education is highlighted, among other essential aspects for social educators, since the pedagogical practices quality is intrinsically related to the professionals involved training process, also, to the social education system recognition as a complement to guarantee education rights.
