Este artigo apresenta reflexões sobre a função social do brincar na construção da identidade de gênero a partir das memórias de velhos(as) Chiquitanos. Esses atores narram suas brincadeiras de infância, evidenciando como as relações de gênero se constituíam em um contexto histórico marcado pelos conhecimentos tradicionais desse grupo. Na cultura chiquitana as relações de gênero se processam conforme os códigos culturais e se constituem de maneira singular ao conceber o homem e a mulher em sua cosmologia. Assim, o brincar era organizado de forma espontânea, flexível e desprovida de estereótipos de gênero. Meninos e meninas brincavam juntos e faziam seus brinquedos com os materiais disponíveis na natureza.Downloads
