Data about the prison system in the United States and Brazil have similarities in the social, racial and educational profile of the incarcerated population. From this, the objective of the research was to analyze if the themes of incarceration, racism and school failure are approached in an interrelated way in the area of Education. For this, a survey was carried out in the databases Scopus, SciELO, Web of Science and the Biblioteca Digital Brasileira e Teses e Dissertações. The results show that in Brazil there are no works that simultaneously correlate incarceration, racism and school failure. However, in international databases there is a large amount of research.
