This manuscript covers a study on Brazilian thesis and dissertations that approach the methodology of Interdisciplinary Islands of Rationality in the education of science teachers. Our search on the Digital Theses and Dissertations Library gave us six works we analyzed via Discursive Textual Analysis. We present emerging understandings about the importance of a problematized character for the concrete problem, providing a Scientific and Technological Literacy. We also suggest that the concrete problem should start from studying the reality in which the students inserted, creating a generative theme based on the Thematic Investigation methodology.
