The genesis of an espect-a(u)tor eco-relacional reflections on theatre, politics and education

Abstract

In the 1970s, Boal proposed, in his theater of the oppressed, the espect-ator neologism, to affirm the importance of leaving passivity and assuming an active stance in both theater and the streets of the country, which suffered coercion and violence from a military dictatorship. In 2022, after many political and economic changes, remains relevant to form the espect-ator? This work is willing to discuss this, understand the context and act to transform it. It presents a little of the Brazilian political conjuncture and proposes contributions from the Perspectiva Eco-Relacional to expand and complexify the concept of Boal. As the main result, the work points to the genesis of the espect-a(u)tor eco-relacional.

Professor Assistente na Universidade Federal do Sul da Bahia (UFSB), vinculado ao Instituto de Humanidades, Artes e Ciências (IHAC), do Campus Paulo Freire. Desde novembro de 2020, coordena o Colegiado da Licenciatura Interdisciplinar em Artes e suas Tecnologias. Possui Graduação em Licenciatura em Teatro (IFCE) e em Tecnologia em Artes Cênicas (IFCE), Especialização em Cultura Popular, Arte e Educação do Campo (UFCA) e Mestrado em Mestrado Interdisciplinar em Humanidades (UNILAB).
