Abstract

This study investigated the meanings that may emerge from the discourse of teachers about their life world, likewise provide ways of thinking about the broader work of the teacher from the work of art interpreting the discourse of teachers about their world of life and analyze the meaning of emancipation from thematizations performed in interaction / communication. It was used as the theoretical basis of the fund paradigm of the life world and system of Habermas and Marcuse's assumptions about art to think about teaching and emancipatory processes. To conduct the study worked with four (4) works of art of national and international painters, which were presented to five (5) teachers from public schools in the city of Santa Maria (RS), 4 (four) weekly meetings. The methodology used for this project was the action research Thiolhent, with the intention to be together with the research participants in thematizations about his life world, similar data were used for data analysis to discourse analysis. Therefore, the use of discourse analysis as a methodological tool corroborated the understanding of the life world of teachers, the measure in the speech and its various meanings are expressed through the presentation of works of art that allowed the emergence of interdiscourse and intradiscourse providing opportunities through which discursive formations such as kitten, mothering, working time and leisure and indiscriminate strike emerge as the discourse of the teacher in the contemporary situation.
