REFLEXIONS ON MERITOCRACY IN BRAZILIAN EDUCATION

This study proposes the investigation of the meritocratic conception present in the official politics of Brazilian education with the example of the state of São Paulo, which adopts the model based on meritocracy for the false valorization of teachers in public schools. Thus, the etimological sense of the idea of merit is analised, seeking to understand the meaning of meritocracy and school meritocracy in the context of the Reform of the State. An attempt to describe how these policies can effect controle over the teacher, só that the interests of capital impose themselves even more in a mercadological form.Downloads
