Education is a political act and as such it is product that reflects social and historical interactions. Brazil has undergone several transformations throughout its history that culminated in the advances achieved in the last decades, although it is still necessary to overcome major challenges. The curricular question is the result of the political and pedagogical interaction in which educational institutions and their agents mirror their worldview. In this work, after a brief historical perspective of the Brazilian education, it is sought to evaluate the current context in the educational field, taking as object for this analysis the proposal of the High School Reform, presented by the federal government by the Provisional Measure 746/2016, which is done in the light of Freirean thought.Downloads
