Abstract

The Unified Health System (SUS) presents itself as one of the largest and most complex public health systems in the world, ranging from primary care to highly complex services. The aim of the study was to investigate through the scientific literature the relevance of the SUS in the covid-19 pandemic. The research is an integrative literature review carried out in the SciELO, PubMed and Virtual Health Library (VHL) databases in July 2021. After the integrated and systematized search, ten articles related to the main theme of the study were found. study. It was perceived as the main agenda of the results “the strengthening of the SUS” as the main strategy in the realization of the right to health. Strengthening involves the need to update its funding, valuing the work of health professionals, the need for strategic actions for populations with greater social vulnerability, knowledge of the importance of this health system by the population, in line with the broad participation of society in this revitalization of the system. From this perspective, it is essential that the population perceive the SUS as a right to health and the inspection of this system as a fundamental duty for its strengthening and effectiveness.
