Abstract

Smart is a keyword in a contemporary mentality founded in a neoliberal meritocracy. Smart city comes from this. This article intends to investigate some effects caused by “smart” paradigm in our relation with cities, especially if we think in unfamiliar that metropolis can provoke but surveillance leads toward abolition. Smartphone mediates the relation between bodies and minds with the city, and may be the clearest evidence of loss of presence and strangeness in the being in the urban.
