The article is an excerpt from the author's doctoral research – of an ethnographic nature and focused on the transformations of photojournalism in the contemporary scenario – and addresses the various ways of capturing journalistic photographs that were observed in the field. We realize that the production of images without any external interference is just one among other possible ways, which points to a tension between the journalist's agency and other actors that influence the construction of the meaning of the images.
