After her explosive participation in BBB21, marked by various controversies and the impact of "cancel culture" on social media, the rapper from Curitiba, Karol Conká, released Urucum (2022), an album aimed at reflecting on this tumultuous period. Beyond the lyrics, this musical project stands out for its cover, in which the singer reinterprets the myth of Medusa. In this study, based on the concepts of Intermediality, our goal is to analyze the possible meanings of this imagetic element. Firstly, we explore how an album cover can be defined and classified within this theoretical perspective. Next, we delve into the modalities of photography, which is the language used in the composition of the cover. Finally, using the concepts of primariness, secondariness, and tertiarity, we conduct a semiotic analysis of the cover. After this analysis, we conclude that Karol Conká appropriates the mythological character to address, among other issues, how she was dehumanized due to her participation in the reality show.
