Making use of rhetorical resources Lula supports his two presidential addresses texts (2003 and 2007) mainly on places like the “new”, the “person” and the “quality”, . In each one of them one can observe the use of prior ethos which, summed up to the use of the “places”, as well as to the pathos resource, reelaborates the nowadays image about himself and produces the final discursive ethos that aims to convince the auditory through the credibility it evokes. The news is in concluding that so different types of addresses as the FHC’s and Lula’s are not analytically divergent, once their basis are supported on common characteristics like the excessive use of abstract substantives. What makes them look like completely different is the work with nowadays issues that, together with the use of the prior ethos, results on an actual and remodeled approach on the orator.Downloads
