The aim of this article is discuss the journalistic identity, how it is constructed in the interior of representation. Based in Hall and also in discourse studies (Pêcheux), we analyse texts that studies the journalistic practice, examining the meanings of journalist and journalism, their “proper” meanings. We show that it is an identity constructed in relation with important areas (like literature), wich explains how the journalists define themselves and also the position that journalistic community claims for itself in our society.Downloads
