Abstract

The interviewee for this volume of Revista Signo is Professor Dra. Paula Lopes, Associate Professor at the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (UAL), who has carried out work with media literacy from Communication studies. Since her thesis, entitled "Media literacy and citizenship: Practices and skills of adults in training in Grande Lisboa", Profa Paula Lopes has dedicated herself to the task of not only working directly with media education, as a teacher in Communication courses, but also understanding literacy processes, seeking to develop methodologies for this learning. For her, the ability to communicate efficiently for citizenship, today, increasingly involves not only the already consolidated reading and writing skills, but a critical and safe attitude towards the media.
