Abstract

The purpose of this article is to discuss about image analyses in discourses in general, as well as the discourse of the media in particular, especially before the contemporary technologies. The DA (that is, the Discourse Analyses) which we refer to is the one made up by Michel Pêcheux. In this way, the concepts of intericonicity in Courtine and polychromy in Souza are useful theoretical tools to analyze non-verbal texts. They will be taken as foundation to analyze the article The Colors of the Crisis, published by Veja magazine at the time of the “Big Monthly Warranty” Scandal. In this exercise, we will analyze the constitution of the subject when it refers to the Labor Party and how this relationship goes on, focusing on the verbal and non-verbal elements materialized in the corpus.
