A performance, by reworking and restoring behaviors, produces in and through itself a form of reporting, narratives about different events. From the analysis of performances that recover trauma, more specifically about the military dictatorships established in South America in the second half of the last century, and comparing them with a contemporary literary work that discuss this same theme – La casa de los conejos (2008), by Laura Alcoba –, this article aims to think about the possibility of the account also being a kind of performance. To this end, we discuss some elements that are present in both artistic manifestations, such as the restoration of identities and the staging of biographies, thinking also in terms of imagination. As a basis and theoretical support, we use authors such as Richard Schechner (2006), Márcio Seligmann-Silva (2008), Diana Taylor (2009), Graciela Ravetti (2002), Juan José Saer (2012), among others.
