In this paper, our main purpose is to introduce computational semantics, area that illustrates the interface of semantics with computing and plays a central role in many types of applications for computational processing of human language. We propose also to draw attention to the role Frame Semantics (FILLMORE et al., 1993) has played in this scenario, since the creation of FrameNet and similar projects for other languages. As an illustration, we also do a brief account of two initiatives of the SemanTec group, which has Frame Semantics as its main theoretical framework on the task of constructing semantic-computing resources.Downloads
