The objective of this article is to show the importance of virtual reading in English language apprenticeship, considering the theory of Biology of Cognition of Humberto Maturana and Francisco Varela, the studies on technology of Pierre Levy, as well as the presuppositions of Edgar Morin and other investigators of complexity. For a better understanding of the appropriation of reading as a process of self construction, the mentioned presuppositions orientate for the possibility of complexification of apprenticeship through the pedagogic use of new technologies, more specifically of virtual reading. Aiming to contribute to teaching practice, I report an experience through activities of hypertextual reading in foreign language classrooms.Downloads
