Abstract

This paper aims to present the implications of the dam Castelhano construction for the population and the environment of the area to be flooded. Will be presented several information gathered on a visit to the Riacho dos Negros community by the UFPI project team of Research and Extension - Territorialization, deterritorialization and reterritorialization in the dynamics of development in the state of Piaui. Based on theories of sociology and anthropology of law authors, we intend to analyze the case of said dam and point out inconsistencies between the way the law proposes to act in situations of conflict and how it occurs in reality. Also, will be exposed elements that indicate the distortion of the public nature of the project, which violates the rights of traditional and marron communities affected.
