The aim of this study is to understand the contribution of family agriculture as a sponsor of the formation of a territorial identity in the city of Rolim de Moura (RO). The research is descriptive exploratory and, as far as the approach is concerned, it is quantitative. For the data collection, 321 interviews were applied, structured through forms, to family farmers in the study area in the period between February 4 and March 2, 2017. The data collected were arranged in tables and correlated using the correlation of Pearson; among the correlations were highlighted the one of greater significance that guided the description of the results. The results showed that in the municipality of Rolim de Moura (RO), family farmers depend on the income of rural property for their livelihoods and that land relations are beyond the concepts of geographic territory, involving symbolic, socio-political and economic issues that can contribute to local development and create a territorial identity for the municipality of Rolim de Moura (RO).Downloads
