Abstract

The level of demand and competition that organizations are submitted to make them go after certain instruments that could provide them with sufficient competitive advantage to survive long term. In this context, through organizational network studies, we could identify competitive-cooperative advantages to the network members of recyclable materials collectors in the city of Curitiba, as well as the ways they relate to eachother. A high degree of cohesion and identification of common objectives was observed among the network members, as well as concrete benefits to those organizations that joined the network model. This way, we could verify that building organizational networks can be considered a useful tool that could provide better conditions and quality of life for the carrinheiros.
