Abstract

This paper tries to make a reflection about Environmental Education in a context that is not restricted to specific aspects of the knowledge area. We don’t intend to establish remarkable lines but the purpose is to promote some contents that need to be considered on Environmental Education and cooperate for the construction of an equalitarian and developmental society. From this point of view, two comprehension variables are discussed: the utopian speculation and the real possibility, placing individuals and society in charge of a collective exercise of their own historical transformation. Additionally, other procedures include rules, methods and skills identified by operational methods, on an assumption to content learning and accomplishments whose objective is to improve the indicators. Methodologically, this study used a qualitative approach and its main conclusion was that the adoption of environmental practices in schools constitutes a significant contribution for the cultural background in the society’s development process.
