In spite of Amazon Region possess a biodiversity pointed as one of most important of the planet, doesn´t come translating these potential resources in generation of economic wealth for the region and its residents. In a great sense this occurs due the fragilities of the Regional System of Innovation, immature in terms of the base of research (scientific and technological development) and human capital formation, with relatively no favorable conditions to the advance of the knowledge concerning the biotechnology and the bioprospection, basic base for exploration of this type of resource in large scale. And hence its productive base of operation is “poor” in terms of the ability to leverage the growth of the region and promote the development of its residents. The article aims to discuss these issues in the light of the Regional Innovation System approach.Downloads
