Social actors role in the purchase of Family Farming products for school feeding in Paraná counties

The National School Feeding Program has emerged as proposed by the Federal Government in offering food to school. With the implementation of Law 11.947 / 2009, it became mandatory the purchase of family farming products for school feeding. This article has as main objective to verify the performance and perception of social actors involved in implementing this policy in eight municipalities in the state of Paraná. It is a qualitative study from semi-structured interviews with key actors in the implementation of PNAE as managers and members of the School Feeding Council. Qualitative data were analyzed using thematic categorization, using the technique of content analysis. The results support the conclusion that the larger municipalities have more difficulty in meeting the law. Each location presents hindering and facilitating factors, however, change processes are more likely to occur in places where social actors become actors and use up the spaces that promote interfaces to think about strategies that overcome barriers and enable the acquisition of family farming products.Downloads
