Abstract

Knowing that the social reproduction of family farming consolidates the diversification of sources of income and their ability to adapt to the new social contexts of modernity, the question is: what are the income strategies of family farmers? Therefore, we tried to analyze the income strategies of a representative group of farmers in the municipality of Itapejara D'Oeste categorized between groups of high and low income in 2005 and 2010. As a result identified that the increase in income was due the junction of grains and milk binomial with the possibility of having greater access to arable agriculture; as well as the opportunity to have a non-farm income.
