The analytical assumptions of media ecologists, with emphasis on those who understand the media as technosocial environments, in this theoretical-exploratory academic essay, will be appropriated in an attempt to make Media Ecology an analytical lens of investigation on multilevel communication in innovation ecosystems. Such appropriation aims to elaborate referential and explanatory notes that support the broadening of the Communication's view on innovative ecosystems that, in the mediatized socio-organizational context, have media technologies, as necessary organisms for their organization, development, support, and visibility. In addition, some points of light will be highlighted regarding the media configurations and communication strategies of innovation ecosystems.
