Abstract: The reasons underlying the reissues, translations into other sign systems and commemorative editions of Macunaíma, a work by Mário de Andrade, released in 1928, may be many: the work is intermedial, intertextual and intercultural. Interarts Studies make it possible to understand the dialogues between media and the arts, also taking into account different supports. When it comes to Macunaíma's sequential art (graphic novel), which has as its premise the adaptation of a literary text into a simultaneous game of verbal and non-verbal images and visual citations, the narrative is constituted as inventive and multisemiotic.
