Abstract

This article discusses some aspects of the illustrations in books for young readers involving the contributions of the visual representation of the reading for the formation of literary taste. In this sense, the paper discusses the importance of image representation of the act of reading the book juvenile, and beside that, analyzes the work of 25 anos do Menino Maluquinho (Ziraldo, 2006), where there is the presence of images of reading extremely significant. Thus, were studied in the work, the concepts of reading, the meanings of reading practices, the areas of reading, reading subjects, the mediators, the circulation of books and reading modes. Thus, it was noted that representations of books and reading found in the work may contribute significantly to the formation of the reader.
