Abstract

The present study aims to analyze the book O fazedor de amanhecer, written by Manoel de Barros, which integrates the Programa Nacional da Biblioteca Escolar (National Program of the School Library) - PNBE/2010. The poetry of the book is built through the revelation of things that usually are rejected or ignored by human perception. In the book, creatures as crickets, flies and frogs are important, having a highlighting position. Developed based on descriptive analysis, through a research of the literature, the study presents, at first, considerations about the importance of reading in human life, going to focus, then, peculiarities of the poetry, which provides the reader with a differentiated experience, reaching the imaginary, through the poetic images. Based on this theoretical reflection, is focused the book’s poetic text, in order to reveal how simple and often deemed unimportant things become rich in poeticity through the language, allowing the reader to create a new vision about his surroundings.
