Abstract

This study discusses the different types and uses of verbal protocols in the area of reading comprehension, and focuses on one type of verbal protocol, the think-aloud procedure, offering basic recommendations for researchers who wish to use this research tool as a means of possible access to the mental processes involved in reading comprehension.
