This article is part of a search project called “Formação do leitor: o processo de mediação do docente”, that happens at the University of Caxias do Sul. The search intends, from the investigation material collected – from classrooms and libraries – analyse the literature place and also criate some strategies to get students closer to literature books, and, in the same way, help teachers with the mediation process. After some observations during the “histories time”, it brought to the end that the mediation process should start even before the literacy process itself, and the infant education was taken as the main topic. This article intends to analyse the historical way of the infant literature and also investigate in which ways the teacher procedures of mediation of the literary text, in infant education, have helped the child to be an independent reader and to enjoy the reading, and also to give some suggestions based on the literay text “Dez sacizinhos”, by Tatiana Belinky (1997).Downloads
