Knowledge production: subsidies for reading in the information society – a case study

The aim of this article is to reflect peculiarities of reading on computer, highlighting problems and advantages of the reading habit and relevance of the discipline “knowledge production”, whose goal is to teach students to use efficiently research sources. A study among fifteen students who joined at school and had not had contact to this job before was carried out. The goal was to observe if reading on screen would be easier to the construction of knowledge, based on different dimensions of the concept of literacy and to observe the relevance of the lessons of “knowledge production”. It was noticed that, despite the benefits, the seek for information on computer may display some snags, undermining the reading. Indeed, this is a sign, that using computers carefully as a support for education is necessary that such information does not become a feature object repudiation in learning training. Schools need to worry about creating strategies for teachers and students so that they can use this tool efficiently.Downloads
